Charles A. LoVaglio, age 92, Weeki Wachee, died Nov. 17, 2013, surrounded by his family and under the care of HPH Hospice.
Charles was born June 21, 1921, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Charles A. and Mary (Dunn) LoVaglio. He served our country during World War II
in the U.S. Navy
. He was employed at Trunz Meats for 30 years. Charles was a life member of American Legion Post in Ridgewood, N.Y., and the DAV. He was an avid baseball fan and also played on minor league baseball and soccer teams. He enjoyed gardening.
Left to treasure his memory are his children, Karen Murphy, Inverness, Charles H. LoVaglio, Colorado, Linda Smith and her companion Howard Greenberg, Woodbury, N.Y., and Donna A. Siegler and her husband Patrick, Bellmore, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lillian M. LoVaglio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery. The family will greet friends in visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Memorial donations in Charles' memory are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers.
