Charles Irving Blair, age 81, of Beverly Hills, Fla., passed away Sept. 23, 2013, at his home under the loving care of his family and HPH Hospice. He was born on June 16, 1932, in Lansing, Mich., to Melvin and Mary (Van Hussen) Blair. Charles retired from General Motors
after 32 years, and after visiting Citrus County and camping here for several years, moved here permanently in 2001.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose
No. 2013 in Crystal River, Oldsmobile 25 years Club, Oldsmobile Outdoor Club and the First United Methodist Church in Homosassa, Fla.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Blair, and his sister, Virginia Cannarile.
He is survived by his wife, Loreita "Rita" Blair of Beverly Hills, Fla.; children, Robert Blair of Portland, Tenn., Nelda Gardner of Clarksville, Tenn., Ronald (Lina) Mohler of Lake In The Hills, Ill., and Deborah Diebold of Homosassa, Fla.; brother, Melvin Eugene (Doris) Blair of Charlotte, Mich.; sister, Donna Johnson of Lansing, Mich.; five grandchildren, Ronald Canfield and Richard Canfield, both of San Antonio, Texas, ET3 David Mohler of the U.S. Navy, Cpl. Mark Mohler of the Marine Corps, and Heather Hofstetter of Homosassa, Fla..
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at the Brown Funeral Home in Lecanto, Fla., from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Private cremation will follow under the direction of Brown Funeral Home and Crematory in Lecanto.
Burial will be at the First United Methodist Church in Homosassa at a later date.
