Darrell Wayne Bowden, 56, Inverness, Florida, died at home April 28, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Joan "Kathy" Opperman Bowden; his son, Jesse Wayne Bowden of Durham, North Carolina; two sisters, Carol Inscoe (Lathan) of Durham, North Carolina, Cheryl Barbour (Donnie) of Rougemont, North Carolina; and granddaughter, Alexi Elizabeth Bowden. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Darrell was born March 26, 1958, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to the late William and Doris (Robinson) Bowden. After leaving North Carolina, he resided in Tampa, Florida, for 11 years before moving to Inverness, Florida. He was the owner of Bowden's Interior Trim before becoming a superintendent in the construction industry.
Darrell's life will be celebrated Thursday, May 8, at Clements Funeral Home, 148 N. Churton St., Hillsborough, NC 27278. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. with the memorial service starting at 6 p.m.
