Edward J. Nordyke, 78, of Crystal River, Fla., passed away Aug. 25, 2013, at the Hospice House in Lecanto. Born Nov. 6, 1934, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to William and Margaret (Bennett) Nordyke. Edward moved to Citrus County in 1997 from Gainesville where he owned and operated Nordyke Office Machines.
Mr. Nordyke was an Army
Veteran of the Korean War
, a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church, a Scout Master, Chamber of Commerce,
, UF Gator Booster and the Off Shore Fishing Club all in Gainesville; Kings Bay Rotary Club
in Crystal River. He was an avid world traveler and boating/fishing enthusiast.
Edward is survived by his wife, Norma J. Nordyke of Crystal River; four children, Curtis Nordyke of Crystal River, Kevin and his wife Meg Nordyke of Dawsonville, Ga., Christine and her husband Chip Irons of Middletown, Del., and Craig Nordyke of Cocoa; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the funeral home.
