Mark Edward Taylor, 52, of Homosassa, passed away Dec. 15, 2012, at his home. A native of Washington, D.C., he was born Sept. 8, 1960, and moved to Homosassa in 2000 from Hickory, N.C. Mark spent many years as a truck driver, he was also employed by Vitro Inc., which contracted with the federal government as a draftsman of nuclear weapons. He was a past member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Hickory.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 28 years, Deb Taylor of Homosassa; sons, Mark E. Taylor Jr., and Christopher M. Taylor, both of Homosassa; adoptive mother, Ruby Wyle and stepfather, Robert Wyle, Hickory, N.C.; mother, Judy Nickel of W. Richfield, Ohio; father, Buddy Knotts of Powhatan Point, Ohio; brother, Bob Knotts, Clinton, Ohio; sister, Joyce Heibertshausen of Alzeda, Mont.; sister, Beth Waldock of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister, Melanie Garver of Keedysville, Md.; sister, Karen of Ohio; grandchildren, Mark III, Mason and Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews and his many adopted sons of the 2/8 Echo Company, USMC, stationed out of Camp LeJeune, N.C. Mark was preceded in death by a son, Cpl. John Taylor (Feb. 22, 2011), adoptive father Ralph E. Taylor (Dec. 30, 1985), and a sister, Laurie Bookman (April 14, 2011).
