Rena E. Dodd, 88, of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Ft. Lauderdale and Plainview, N.Y., passed away Feb. 16, 2014, under the loving care of Hospice of Citrus County of the Nature Coast. Rena was born July 17, 1925, in Rockville, Conn., to Albert Nutland and Elsie (Miller) Nutland. Rena graduated with her nursing degree from Farmingdale College in 1965 and specialized as a labor and delivery/newborn nursery nurse. After retirement, Rena became an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, reading and traveling around the world.
Rena is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Harry W. Dodd; children, Patricia (Bruce) Sieving, of Phoenixville, Pa., Thomas Wigand, of Huntington, N.Y., James (Candy) Wigand of Ft. Lauderdale, John (Debbie) Wigand, of Ft. Lauderdale, Robert (Karen) Wigand of Kernersville, N.C., Marianne Doan, of Houston, Texas and Richard Wigand, of Miami; and stepchildren, Harry R. Dodd of Weddington, N.C., and Jayne Dodd of Inverness; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her precious puppy, Tiny. Rena is predeceased by her parents; sister, Audrey Golemba of Vernon, Conn.; and step-daughter, Debra Dodd of Ft. Lauderdale.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Charles E. Davis Funeral Home in Inverness. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, in the chapel at the funeral home.
