William O'Neal "Neal" Colbath, 78, Floral City, died Nov. 13, 2012 at his residence under the loving care of his family and the devoted nursing staff of Hospice of Citrus County. Neal was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Portland, Maine, to the late William O. and Helena (Deroche) Colbath. He served our country in the United States Army
. Neal was employed as a salesman for an electric supply company. He was a member of the American Legion Post #155 of Crystal River, Korean War
Veterans Chapter #192, Sons of the American Revolution, Withlacoochee Chapter and Boy Scouts of America, Troop #27 in Connecticut; a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and Wood Badge.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Bernice; sons, Michael W. (Debbie) Colbath, Manchester, Conn., Steven R. (Mairead) Colbath, Canada, Brian D. (Glenda) Colbath, West Hartford, Conn., and Mark V. (Denise) Colbath, Wethersfield, Conn.; nephew, Marty (Sheryl) Welles, Granbury, Conn.; five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The family will receive friends in visitation Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m., with military honors at 4:30 p.m., at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in South Portland, Maine.
