Chad Johnson passed away at the age of 74 on Nov. 3, 2013. He was the first in his family to earn a high school diploma and later earned his college degree. He had a passion for learning which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He loved music, sports, and traveling; and his hobbies included: gardening, photography, and amateur radio, (W4CJ). As a lifelong ham operator, he received the DXCC Honor Roll Award for working 350 plus different countries. He proudly served his country in the Unites States Navy for 20 years and continued his service to the country as a civilian working for Naval Intelligence for 12 years. He was a member of the NCVA. Throughout his life, Chad forged many close friendships which continue from high school to the present.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judith Johnson; his children, Stephen Johnson (Karen), Jennifer Banta (Jeff), and Timothy Johnson (Cassy); grandchildren, Chris, Katie, Erich and Craig; brother, Mack Johnson; and man's best friend and love, Tessa; and nieces; nephews; and extended family members.
