Frank R. Tansley, age 80, died April 27, 2014, under the care of Hospice of Citrus County in Lecanto. Frank was born Feb. 17, 1934, to Harry and Mabel (Gifford) Tansley in Tom's River, N.J. He was their 11th child. He attended Tom's River Elementary and High School. After high school, Frank drove trucks and excavation equipment. He then worked at Ciba-Geigy Chemical Plant in Toms River as a chemical operator, retiring after 23 years of service in December 1990. He was a volunteer fireman in Fire Company No. 2 Toms River for 11 years. He married Margaret Kuehne in 1953 and together they had three children, Frank Rawlins, Deborah Lee and Michael David. Margaret passed away in 1985. Frank married Jean Ritchie in 1988 and together they moved to Inverness in 1994. After his relocation to Inverness, he volunteered for CASA. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing.
Frank also has eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by all of his siblings, Emma, Bill, Edith, Walter, Fred, Dorothy, Margie, Ruth, Muriel, Jean and Bobby. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
A funeral service and tribute to Frank's life will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Donations in Frank's memory may be made to Hospice of Citrus County, First United Methodist Church of Inverness or Citrus County Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
