George R. Blakey, 82, of Beverly Hills, Fla., passed away Nov. 23, 2013, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center. A native of Underhill, Vt., Mr. Blakey retired from the U.S. Army after serving 25 years, with combat time in Korea and Vietnam with the 101st and 82nd Airborne. After his military service, he was a manager of hospital food services for Morrison Food. George was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus where he was a 3rd and 4th degree Knight, and the VFW in Beverly Hills.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geneva Y. Blakey; son, Stan R. Blakey and wife Cindy; three grandchildren, Eric R. Blakey, Courtney L. Blakey and Allison M. Blakey; and sister, Kit Clark and husband Randall.
A Catholic funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,
6 Roosevelt Blvd, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 pm. Fero Funeral Home, www.ferofuneralhome.com.
