John F. Pope (a.k.a. Trapper), 70, of Inglis, Fla., passed away April 30, 2013.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Tucker-Mogensen; granddaughter, Mary; grandson, Reece; mother-in-law, Mrs. Maida Baughman; sisters, Pat (Bob) Nelson, Mary Lee (Bud) Reeves, and Lynne (Carlos) Sanchez; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; brothers; and sisters-in law that he loved. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary C. (Baughman) Pope; parents, Frank and Noreen; and brother, Jim Pope.
He graduated in 1961 from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Mich., and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University. After careers in wildlife biology and computer programming he retired to Florida where he resided for the past 10 years.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto. A memorial service will be conducted in Michigan in July for family and friends. John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary, in Resurrection Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Mich.
