The Service of Remembrance for Mr. John Phillip Stark Jr., age 65, of Inverness, Florida, will be held 3:30 pm, Sunday, October 6, 2013 at LeRoy Rooks VFW Post #4252, Hernando, FL. Mr. Stark was born May 11, 1948 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY, son of John and Joan Stark. He died September 27, 2013 in Inverness, FL. Mr. Stark was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a driver for Cox Lumber for many years and moved to Inverness, Florida from Virginia Beach in 1994. Mr. Stark was Past Commander and lifetime member of the VFW # 4252 Hernando, Florida, Charter member of American Legion Post # 237, Beverly Hills, Florida, 40 + 8 Military Club, and member of the Pup Tent 76 Cootes, Hernando.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy. Survivors include wife of 20 years, Sandra Lee Stark, 4 children, Johnny Stark Jr., Joel Stark, Jason Stark, and Jennifer Stark, and 3 grandchildren, Alyssa, Donny and Kevin, 3 sisters, Jeannie, Joanne and Jane and a brother, Jeffery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
