Marvin Elmer Aaberg, 87, Inverness, died April 12, 2012, in Citrus Memorial hospital.
Mr. Aaberg was born on May 3, 1924, to the late Elmer and Inez (Gruener) Aaberg in Duluth, MN, and came to Florida in 1990 from Peekskill, NY. He retired as a Safety Coordinator for the Lakeland School District in Peekskill and served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V. and the Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit. Marvin loved his country and flew the American flag from his condo residence each day.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Stuhlinger Aaberg; his son, Scott Aaberg and wife, Cynthia, of Troy, MI. He was preceded in death by his two brothers.
Military graveside services will be from the Florida National Cemetery on Thursday, April 19th, at 10 a.m. with VFW Post 7122 officiating. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home With Crematory. In lieu of flowers, donations requested to Citrus Co. Animal Services, 4030 So. Airport Rd., Inverness, FL 34450. The procession will leave the funeral home for the cemetery at 9:15 a.m.
