The Graveside Service of Remembrance for Mr. Thomas B. Blalock, 70, of Hernando, Fla., will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force. He was born March 13, 1943, in Houston, Texas, and was the son of the late William and Vestal (Barnes) Blalock and the stepson of the late Rose Blalock. He died May 3, 2013, in Hernando, Fla. Mr. Blalock had retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, last serving as the fire chief at MacDill Air Force Base. He was a veteran of Vietnam and a member of Nitram Masonic Lodge No.188, F & AM in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include his daughter Deborah Horan of Moscow, Pa.; and his son William Blalock of Hernando, Fla.; a sister, Faye Knight; and a cousin, Fred Brown. He is also survived by three grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes & Crematory.
