William Ralph Mushorn, 94, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. Bill was born Nov. 2, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late William and Meta (Brockmann) Mushorn. Bill was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was an avid sports fan and liked watching all kinds of sports on TV, especially baseball and the New York Yankees. His family will remember him as a wonderful father and grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Edward (Camille) Mushorn, West Islip, N.Y.; his daughter, Donna (Bill) Story, Inverness; stepdaughters, Beverly (Joseph) Millar, Seffner, Fla., Linda (Richard) Beasley, Waycross, Ga., and Linda Glaze of Valdosta, Ga.; grandchildren Jennifer, Laura, Tracy and Michael; 18 great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren, Laura, Lisa, Sharon, Heather, Shannon and Dylan. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Mary Schluer Mushorn; his second wife of 21 years, Bessie (Truluck) Mushorn (Oct. 5, 2012); a grandson, Robert Story; and a great-grandchild, Joshua Wyka.
A celebration tribute to honor Bill's life will be Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in visitation on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
