In 1982, Al and his wife Teresa moved from Vernon, N.J., to Citrus County, Fla., where he worked as a master plumber. Following retirement, he moved to Tennessee to make the Smoky Mountains their backyard, saying, ""All I need now is for the Good Lord, in His time, to place me with my old friends and family.""
Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver, Teresa Jaeger; children and grandchildren Michael Jaeger and wife Barbara (Melissa and Matthew), Kathleen Katzenstein and husband Ernie (Kelly and Kimi), Laureen Carroll and husband Mark (Christopher Hansen), and Allen Jaeger and wife Karen (Samantha and Kirstyn); great-granddaughter, Lilli Anna; stepchildren, Teresa Hamm and husband Chuck, Hillary Donica, Tischa Brower and husband Rodney (Elizabeth and Stuart Newkirk), William Ratekin (Katie); and his beloved dog, Jesse.
