Barbara Jean Brendle Obituary
Barbara Jean Brendle, 77, of Homosassa, FL, passed away at home under the loving care of Hospice on Sunday, July 30, 2017. A native of Miami, FL, Barbara was born April 22, 1940 to Willard and Dorothy (Albury) Peterson, one of five children. Early in her life, Mrs. Brendle was a key punch operator for Sunbank in Miami, but became a lifelong homemaker and mother upon the arrival of her first child. She moved to Citrus County in 1985 from Englewood, FL and had also lived in Ozello. She loved gardening at home and raising chickens, ducks and geese. She also loved St. Bernards and was a member of First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka.
Later in her life, she became a Tampa Bay Lightning and Miami Dolphin fan and is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James R. "Jim" Brendle, Homosassa; son James R. "Jimbo" Brendle, Jr., Homosassa, FL; daughters Nancy Madonna, Homosassa, FL and Carolyn Lomicka (husband Steve), Redington Beach, FL; brothers Joseph Peterson (wife Diane), Ft. White, FL and Robert Peteski (wife Mary), Englewood, FL; grandchildren Christopher Madonna, Taylor Fairfax, Franko and James Salvatore and Chelsea and Delaney Lomicka and great grandchildren Christopher James Madonna, Faithlynn Marie Cameron and Slade Salvatore, as well as her beloved dogs Brutus and Mr. Weiner. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by sisters Joan Frary and Rosemarie Hess.
Friends will be received on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa where a celebration of Barbara's life will also take place on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, with Pastor Timothy Pauley of First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka officiating. Interment will follow at Fountains Memorial Park, Homosassa. www.wilderfuneral.com
