Byron "Dale" Amon, 89, of Homosassa, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 22,2017, following a short illness.
His partner, both in life and in love, Mary Lou Kaczmarek, was at his side.
As a youth, Dale was a crew member on a tug boat, traveling up and down the Mississippi River from Pittsburgh to New Orleans.
He also served as a radio operator in the United States Marine Corps. He also worked with the Standard Register company, for several years, as a printing press operator.
Dale also took it upon himself to take flying lessons, and earned his pilot license, of which he was very proud. He also loved to be outdoors, flying remote controlled aircraft.
Mr. Amon is survived by his life partner, Mary Lou Kaczmarek, with whom he said many times that he wanted to grow old.
He is also survived by his (step) children Kellie Pierce, Pam Wikberg(Tony), Laurie Gilmore(Jay), Richard Kaczmarek, and Michael Kaczmarek (Jean). He had 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Dale at Luigi's restaurant in Homosassa, on Saturday, January 28th, from 2 until 4pm.
