Byron O. Marshall Jr. Obituary
Byron O. Marshall, Jr., 88 of Crystal River, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Saturday, April 29, 2017. He was born on November 13, 1928 in South Berwick, ME to the late Byron O. and Irene S. (Young) Marshall. He moved to Citrus County in 1989 from York, ME.
Byron began his law enforcement career as a State Trooper for the State of Maine. Following that position, he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard as the Superintendent of Security and later retired as Director of Security for the Maine Yankee 900 MW Nuclear Power Plant in Wiscasset, ME. He also held licenses as a private detective, bail bondsman, and notary public. He was a 64-year member of St. John's Masonic Lodge No. 0051 in South Berwick, ME and served our country in the U.S. Army.
In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed trading cars, beach football, basketball, tennis, and crossword puzzles. He designed and supervised the building of four of his homes, completing much of the work himself, including stone walls and finish carpentry.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kristie (Goodrow) Marshall of Crystal River; sons - Aidan B. Marshall and Evan B. Marshall, both of Inverness; daughters - Gail Marshall of Mt. Desert Island, ME and Sharon Hall of Rochester, NH; brothers - Norman Marshall of York, ME and Robert Marshall of Quincy, MA; sisters - Louise Todd of Cape Neddick, ME and Phyllis Marshall of York, ME.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Lecanto with Pastor Gary Bailey officiating. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Chas E Davis Funeral Home With Crematory.
