Carl Moody, 79, of Homosassa Springs, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Marietta, Ga., and moved to this area in 1973 from Pinellas Park.

Carl was the former owner of Springs Transmissions of Homosassa Springs, and attended Grace Bible Church. While living in Pinellas Park, Carl was a stock car driver at the Sunshine Speedway in Pinellas Park. He was an avid fisherman, private pilot who flew his own plane, and he was a great story teller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Max Moody and Lucille Foster; and brothers J. L. Moody and Lamar Moody.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Moody, of Homosassa; sons, Tony Childers (Donna), of Buford, Ga., Randy Moody (Julie), of St Petersburg, and Andy Moody, of Chiefland; daughters, Julie Moody, of Eugene, Ore., and Cindy Moody, of Tarpon Springs; brother Norman Moody, of Georgia; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Grace Bible Church, 6382 W. Green Acres St., Homosassa.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carl may be given to HPH Hospice or Grace Bible Church Building Fund.
