Our beloved Carmen Chasin was suddenly taken from this life at the age of 78, on July 27, 2015. Carmen's husband, Martin Chasin, after many wonderful years together was called home to be with his Lord and Savior in 2009. Now Carmen and Marty are together with their Lord.
Carmen was born May 2,1937, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Felicino and Mercedes Flores. In her early years Carmen excelled in dance, coming to America to further her career.
Carmen's heart was devoted to children. She taught in local Baptist church programs and made many mission trips to the Philippines over the years teaching children God's love in their lives.
Carmen is survived by her sister, Eva P. Flores of the Philippines; stepdaughter, Karen Kavanagh of New York; niece, Marissa and husband Ira Lew of Dunnellon, Florida; an extensive family of nephews and nieces in the Philippines, and all of us that Carmen touched with her gentle devoted spirit. We love her and will miss her presence in our lives.
A memorial service to celebrate Carmen's life will be held at Lighthouse First Baptist Church, at 974 West G. Martinelli Blvd., Citrus Springs, Florida, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2015.
