Carol Stetson Bearse, age 88, of Crystal River, FL, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County.
She was born December 25, 1923, in Brookline, MA, to James S. and Mary (Perrine) Stetson. She came here 20 years ago from Clearwater, FL. She was a homemaker and she loved the outdoors, especially flowers and gardening; she was a member of the National Audubon Society. She loved all animals, with a special love of horses.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stacy Bearse; a brother, John "Jack" Stetson; and a sister, Ruth Chandler. She is survived by her companion, Gerald Abbott, of Crystal River; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, FL, with Hospice of Citrus County Chaplain Larry Strickland officiating. She will be returned to Boston, MA, for burial at the Mount Hope Cemetery.
