Carolyn Neeld Risher Obituary
Carolyn Neeld Risher, 75, was born in Inglis, Florida on August 25, 1940 to the late Lucille Agnes and Louis O. Neeld. She returned to her heavenly home on July 28, 2016. She was a Christian, loving mother and wife, an excellent cook, a great housekeeper and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a longtime resident of Inglis, Florida and loved her community. Her dedication to the town of Inglis was deep seeded where she served as mayor for over 18 years.
She was married to James V. Risher for 54 years. She had nine siblings, survived by Euverla L. Newman of Grayson, Georgia and Magdalene E. Hawthorne of Inglis, Herbert O. Neeld (Jean) of Crystal River, John S. Neeld (Mary Ann) Baconton, Georgia, Gilbert R. Neeld of Inglis, and Louis B. Neeld (Mariko) of Orange, California; preceded by Lynnwood, Mitchell and Michael. She raised five children and from the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda R. Jensen and husband Cary of Hernando, Jewel R. Lamb and husband Steve of Crystal River, Alicia R. Buzbee of Inglis, and Sabrina R. Cole and husband Robb of Hernando. She is preceded in death by her only son, James V. Risher, Jr. (Buddy). She is survived by eight grandchildren, Justin (Amanda), Jake (Emily), Mercedes, Dylan, Erica, Chelsea (Matt),Gage and Ryder and seven great-grand children; Maleah, Levitt, Cartier, Tripp, Lyric, Avery and Royal. She will be dearly missed by all her loved ones but they celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
The family will receive friends in visitation at Strickland Funeral Home on Monday, August 1st, 2016 between 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. A private funeral will be held the following day so family members can celebrate Carolyn's life. Carolyn will be buried at the Cedars of Lebanon Cemetery, Inglis FL at 12:30pm.
