Charles M. Pia Obituary
Charles M. Pia, 84, of Homosassa, FL passed away at HPH Hospice in Lecanto on July 26, 2016 with his wife at his side.
Native of Tampa, graduate of Hillsborough High School and University of Tama, Charles served in the Army Medical Corps during the Korean War. He owned Medical Supply companies in Seminole and St. Petersburg, FL. His love of the outdoors gave him many years of pleasure in boating and fishing. He and his wife fished the Suncoast Tarpon Tournament in the 70's and brought home many prizes and trophies. Charles was named winner of the Earl Gresh Memorial Sportsmanship Award for years of unselfishly helping other fisherman catch tarpon. He will sadly be missed by his wife of 63 years, who loved and shared these years to the fullest; they were inseparable.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sister-in-law Dolores and husband Don Cawthon, brother-in-law Clifford and wife Sherry Bell, sister-in-law Ocy Pia and many nieces and nephews. Private cremation is under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL.
