Christopher Lee Warden Obituary
Christopher Lee Warden, Staff Sgt., U.S. Army, age 31, passed away February 5, 2017 in Columbus, GA.
S/Sgt. Warden was born in Ft Lauderdale, FL on May 18, 1985 and came to Citrus County from there. He attended local schools before enlisting in the Army where he served for 10 years prior to his death. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying inshore fishing, triathlons, hiking, hunting, and scuba diving. One of his dreams was to travel the Caribbean on a sail boat and one day open and run his own fishing charter business.
Christopher was once given the name "Relentless", proving over time that whatever he had his mind set on, he gave it 100%. He was a prime example of hard work and dedication. A natural born leader, serving the Ranger Regiment as a squad leader with 3/75 and 1/75, he completed Ranger School, airborne, jump master, and other notable military accomplishments. He had a giving and loving heart and would help anyone because that compassion was instilled in him. He loved his family and friends dearly and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon Warden and her daughter, Donna Chapman of Columbus, GA; his mother, Sheryl Warden of Inverness, FL; 4 brothers, Edward K. (Sandra) Warden, Jr. of Ocala, FL; David A. Warden of Floral City, FL; Malcolm T. Massey of Inverness, FL; Marcus C. (Amanda) Massey of Copperas Cove, TX; maternal grandmother, Lena May Cameron of Avon Park, FL; nephews, Tyler Warden and Marcus Massey, Jr., and a niece, Ashlynn Warden; his former wife, Nicole Warden of Savannah, GA.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17th at 12:30 PM, from Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Kennie Berger of NorthRidge Church officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery with full military honors being rendered by the Ft Benning Rangers Honor Guard Team.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
