Christopher Nathan Richard Obituary
Christopher Nathan Richard, 30, of Homosassa, FL, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Homosassa. A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, he was born June 26, 1986. Christopher moved to Citrus County permanently in 1996 from Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a Crystal River High School graduate and earned his bachelor's degree in radiology technology from the College of Central Florida. Chris, as he was known to many, had a professional working life that held two facets. He was a former produce manager at Winn Dixie in Homosassa for a number of years, then became a Marketing Director for Medical Imaging, Inc. of Gainesville, Florida, one of Florida's leading provider of mobile x-rays, ultrasound studies, and echocardiograms, with his territory of responsibility being the West Central Florida region. One of his passions in life was physical fitness and, being an avid runner, was known as an enthusiastic participant in marathons and mudruns and was also known as an avid weightlifter. Equally as important to him were his large family and his many friends. Chris was always a man that could be counted on by everyone in need, even to those in his community who may have been total strangers.
Chris was preceded in death by grandparents Peggy and Bill Greet, of Homosassa; Bob and Mildred Richard, of Homosassa; as well as George and Bernice "Bea" Pitts of Homosassa, who loved Chris as if he were their own grandson. Christopher is survived by his mother, Denise M. "Dennie" Hackett and her husband Raymond, Ludington, MI; siblings Bryan Richard and his wife Amber, Hollywood, SC; Aaron Richard and his wife Christie, Seffner, FL and Bobby Hackett and his fiancé Amber, Ludington, MI; his stepsister Vicky Hackett, Pentwater, MI; nephews Thomas, Jordan, Alexander and Paxton and nieces Paige, Caitlin, Christina and Cassie; his aunts and uncles Kathy and Russell Brooks, Homosassa; Robert and Christine Morrison, Crystal River; Martin and Judith Dennis, Davenport, FL and Sandra and Rick Workman, Beverly Hills, FL. Chris is also survived by his cousin B.J. Brooks and his wife Dawn, Homosassa, as well as many, many cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. from First Presbyterian Church of Crystal River, 1501 SE U.S. Highway 19, Crystal River, FL., with Rev. Joanie Holden officiating. Mr. Richard's family wish to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community that has been so important to Chris.
