Collins H. Morgan Obituary
Collins H. Morgan, 79, of Hernando, FL passed away peacefully August 14, 2016 at his home in Hernando. He was born in Daytona Beach, Florida to the late Arthur R. and Mary W. "Minnie" (Schick) Morgan, Jr. Collins was a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War and going with the first wing of F-4s into the country. He was Lutheran by faith and spent his life in devoted service to his family, community, country and God. He was a lifelong outdoors enthusiast from his early days of adventure in the wilds of South Daytona, with a rifle he was given at age six. He loved the beauty and serenity of nature and enjoyed fishing, backpacking, snowmobiling, and boating. He traveled widely in his motor home to family reunions and National Parks, returning again and again to Yellowstone. He often regaled us with funny stories from his adventurous life. He doted on his cats and family, and was well known and loved for his barbeque.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Doris Louise Morgan, his son, Anthony Collins Morgan and half brother Arthur Morgan and half sister, Linda Mignella. Survivors include his current wife, Patricia Webb Morgan; his daughters Rebecca Morgan of Clermont, FL and Daphne Swatek and her husband Ken of Palm Bay, FL; and three grandchildren, Daniel McMillan and his wife Amanda, Melissa Swatek, and Cole Swatek and his wife Kelsey; and his stepsons Perry, Philip and Walter Webb.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 12:00 P.M. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 439 E. Norvell Bryant Hwy., Hernando, Florida, with the Reverend Kenneth C. Blyth officiating. His grandson, Daniel McMillan and his nephew, Steven Jones, will also be speaking. Inurnment will take place after the service at 2:30 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
