David F. Dyke Obituary
David F. Dyke, 80, of Ozello, FL passed away on July 1, 2017 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. David was born on March 9, 1937 in Houston TX. He was the son of the late Frank Jeff Dyke Sr., and Justine Pattillo Dyke.
David was a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin, TX. After graduating he went to work in the Real Estate market in Houston. He then began a career of building and owning several apartment buildings in Houston and San Antonio, TX. He developed a small ranch community on 250 acres west of Houston in Fulshear, TX where he and his family lived for
15 years before moving to Destin, FL. After 6 years in Destin he moved to the quiet islands of Ozello.
David's passions were his family, flying, fishing, hunting and golf. He loved to fly his Cessna to West Texas and Mexico to hunt doves for days on end. David would also fish out of Galveston Bay from Mexico to the Chandeleur Island of Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cherise Wolters Dyke, his Daughters Casey Holley of Ozello, FL, Tricia Saunders of San Rafael, CA, and Renee Hoover of Redondo Beach, CA; grandchildren, David, Breanna and Dillan Holley, K.C. Kemper, Pearl Saunders, Wayne and James Hoover as well as his brother Thomas Dyke of Austin, TX.
Private cremation is under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL.
