Donald R. Pearsall Obituary
Mr. Donald R. Pearsall, age 91, of Homosassa, FL passed away on January 30, 2017 at Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. Don was born July 31, 1925 in Detroit, MI to the late Guy E. and Veronica (Weber) Pearsall. Don was a Navy veteran and served during World War II. After his military service, Don used his GI Bill to attend and graduate from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He went on to work for the Ford Motor Company as an accountant and retired after 30 plus years of service. While working at Ford Motor Company, he met the love of his life, Loretta Donovan. Don and Loretta eventually moved to Homosassa from Clemson, SC in 1987. Both Don and Loretta were members of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL. Don was also a member of the American Legion, Post #155, Crystal River, FL, D.A.V Post #70, Inverness, FL, the Knights of Columbus, Homosassa Springs, FL and the Bereavement Group at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Don enjoyed playing golf, attending Tai Chi and working on crossword puzzles (with a pen!).
Don was predeceased by his loving wife Loretta, his son Paul and his parents. He is survived by 5 daughters: Kathy Halvorson of CA, Karen Pearsall, Lori Krosser and Peggy (Stanley) Parker all of Florida and Carol (Rob) Achenberg of SC, daughter-in-law, Patricia Pearsall of Florida, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Homosassa Chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to the family a at www.hooperfuneralhome.com.
