Edgar L. Gehman, 91, a resident of Beverly Hills, Fla., for the past 27 years and formerly of Bethlehem, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born in Sacramento, Calif., Sunday, Feb. 26, 1922, to Edgar F. and Emily (Eppler) Gehman. Edgar retired in 1982 from Bethlehem Steel after 41 years as a research technician. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, during World War II in the B-24 Armor Tail unit, 8th division. Edgar volunteered for 20 years with the Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit, was a member of the "Grabber Corps" and chairman of the Deed Restriction Committee for the Beverly Hills Civic Association.

Edgar was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Doris (Angle) Gehman; sisters, Evelyn Brunnabend and Virginia Boyle; and son-in-law, William Schaeffer. Survivors include his daughter, Debra L. (Gehman) Schaeffer of Shenandoah, Pa.; sister-in-law, Shirley Frankett of Bethlehem, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
