Edward Lunceford Obituary
Edward Walter Lunceford, age 86 of Floral City, FL passed away at his home on Monday, March 20,2017 under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Edward was born on December 14, 1930 in Replete, West Virginia, to the late Frederick and Jennie (Samples) Lunceford. On December 18, 1954 he married Wilda Snyder with whom he shared 62 years of loving marriage. He and Wilda came to Citrus County, FL 29 years ago from Kent, Ohio. Edward was a US Army veteran and retired as a construction operating engineer after 33 years.
Edward was a charter member of the Floral City VFW #7122; a member of the Model A's Club; the Fun T's of Central FL (a Model T enthusiat club), and a member of the Operating Engineers of Ohio. In his spare time he enjoyed working on his antique cars and playing string instruments. Edward also loved his cats.
In addition to his loving wife Wilda, Edward will be mourned by several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law. He was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Lunceford; and sisters: Garnett Coffman, Beatrice Shaver, Geneva Robinson and Ina Gae Hinkle.
Friends may call at the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Additional services and burial will take place in Hacker Valley, W.V. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Edward's memory to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, P.O. Box 23827, Tampa, FL 33623 or Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
