Edward William Lecorchick Obituary
Edward William Lecorchick, age 82, of Inverness, FL, passed away at his residence on September 3, 2017 with his loving family at his bedside and while under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Ed was born on April 21, 1935 in Sagamore, PA, to the late John and Helena (Sparkey) Lecorchick. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army 82nd Airborne Paratroopers. After his military service, Ed went on to work in Management for The Westinghouse Corporation for 35 years. On January 25, 1964, he married Mora (Cyphers) with whom he shared 53 years of loving marriage. Ed and Mora made Citrus County, Florida their home in 1995 after relocating from Severna Park, MD. A Catholic by faith, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. Ed greatly enjoyed sitting in his garage and listening to talk radio. Eddie has been a member, court jester, & sarcastically inappropriate shootout announcer at the Inverness Golf & Country Club for the past 22 years. This is also where Edward and his faithful sidekick Sammy would take daily trips on the golf cart making frequent stops at all of his best buds homes who his family has dubbed "The Squad". Ed enjoyed watching sports, especially college football and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Edward was a paratrooper for the Army's 82nd Airborne. He takes to the skies one more time, but this time gliding on angel wings.
In addition to his loving wife Mora, those left to mourn Ed's passing include sons: John Lecorchick of Arnold, MD, Jeffrey Lecorchick of Rocky Point, N.C.; daughter, Jane Karopchinsky and her husband Timothy of Orchard Beach, MD; stepdaughters: Pamela Soga and her husband Stephen of Rocky Point, N.C., Caroline Ward of Jacksonville, N.C.; brothers: Thomas Lecorchick of Dublin, OH, Robert Lecorchick of Yuma, AZ, John Lecorchick of Hanover, PA; sister, Eleanor Pinchok of Springdale, PA; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by stepson, Ben Ward and brother, Theodore Lecorchick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at a later date from Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Inverness. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Ed's memory to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Arrangements are under the direction of the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, FL.
