Elaine R. Mason-Smith, 64, of Homosassa, Fla., passed away June 23, 2013, under the loving care of HPH Hospice, Lecanto. She was born and brought up in Bridgewater, MASS., and graduated high school in 1967. Elaine worked at many secretarial jobs before retiring due to illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Aurora Mason; sister, Yvette Collins; grand-daughter, Brittney; and husband, Henry B. Smith Jr. Elaine attended the First Hope Baptist Church in Florida and was an active member and officer of the Crystal River Moose Lodge #1434. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Elaine is survived by her beloved daughter, Michelle Hartwig; grandchildren, Chelsea and Nicholas; stepson, Matthew Smith; sisters, Judy and Ralph Thomas, Denise and Dave Amoral, Claire and Paul Revil; brother, Wilfred J. Mason Jr. and Pam Anderson; Many loving nieces; nephews; cousins; and a very devoted companion, Jim Fischer. Elaine was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Homosassa Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. A celebration of life will be at the Crystal River Moose Lodge #1434 starting at 12 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hooperfuneralhome.com. Cremation will be under the direction of Hooper Crematory, Inverness, followed by a celebration of life in her home town of Bridgewater, Mass., at a later date to be announced.
