Erma Bailey (1924 - 2017)

Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Erma L. Robinson Bailey entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning March 19 at the home of her daughter in Denton at the age of 92. She was born in Idalia, Missouri to the late Bill and Bertie Robinson on July 8, 1924. She married the late James E. Bailey in 1942. Following his service in the Navy, they made their home in St. Louis, Missouri until 1985 when they moved to Beverly Hills, Florida. She moved to Denton in 2013.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Louis Robinson and three sisters, Lela Hester, Wilma (Kate) Hester and Mildred Harris. She is survived by her loving daughter Brenda Cupstid (Jim), grandson Tobin Cupstid (Ashley) of Coppell, Texas and granddaughter Kim Weinzatl (Shawn) of Rib Lake, Wisconsin as well as loving great grandchildren Colton, Payton, Tristian, Mackenzie and Bailey.
Mrs. Bailey was a great example of what it meant to be a member of the "greatest generation". She worked for Bussmann Manufacturing Company in St. Louis for over 30 years. She was a dedicated servant in the children's department of Baptist churches in both Missouri and Florida. She also was one of the first to volunteer to help with other activities and programs of the church. She spent much of her retirement years crocheting afghans, shawls, and baby blankets for friends, churches, newborns and assisted living facilities. Mrs. Bailey was a member of First Baptist Church-Denton (FBC-D).
The family expresses their grateful thanks to members of the FBC-D Charles and Louise Ramsey Life Group as well as Robson Ranch, Oakmont, and St. Louis, MO friends for your unfailing support these last few difficult months. We also express our deepest thanks and appreciation to VITAS Healthcare of Denton including Melissa, Jan, JoAnne, Rodney, and Summer, for their wonderful care and support.
Mrs. Bailey's remains will be cremated and placed with those of her husband in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
