Frances L. Garrymore Obituary
Frances L. Garrymore, 98, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Wed., Jan. 20, 2016 at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River. A native of Plainfield, New Jersey, she was born Sept. 21, 1917 to Robert and Ethel (Perrine) Laing, the oldest of eight children. Mrs. Garrymore moved to Crystal River in 1981 from Bridgewater, NJ, from where she retired after a 30 year career with Mack Trucks, Inc. Upon her retirement to Florida, she continued her active life by becoming an involved parishioner for nearly 35 years of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Crystal River, and served as the President of the Episcopal Church Women's Group. She was a charter member of the Daughters of the King and a longtime member of Fort Cooper Chapter of the D.A.R., Inverness, FL.
Fran, as she was known to many, was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Garrymore, in 1968; a son, William (Bill) Garrymore (May 14, 2011); a grandson, James R. Garrymore; brothers Donald J. Laing, Richard D. Laing, Robert F. Laing, Arthur L. Dove and R. "Mac" Dove and a sister, Ethel (Betty) Orem. Survivors include her son, J.H. Garrymore, Stevensville, MT; stepdaughter Alice L. Garrymore, Mississippi; sister Nancy Leeds, Belvidere, NJ; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, with one more great great grandchild on the way.
A memorial service will be held on Thurs., Feb. 11, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Crystal River with Fr. Gilbert Larsen officiating. A lunch reception will follow at St. Anne's. Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. www.wilderfuneral.com.
