Frances "Fran" Pierce Obituary
The Service of Remembrance for Mrs. Frances "Fran" Virginia Pierce, age 89, of Inverness, Florida, will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness with Pastor Ron Pfeifer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at the church. Mrs. Pierce was born January 6, 1928 in Chamblee, GA, daughter of the late Elbert and Willie (Lipsey) Jenkins. She died January 12, 2017 in Lecanto, FL.
Mrs. Pierce worked as a senior buyer for Lockheed Martin Aerospace. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness where she headed up the Meals on Wheels program for 18 years and was a past moderator for the Presbyterian Women's Club. Mrs. Pierce was very involved in other groups including being past president of the Inverness Woman's Club, Martha Circle at the Inverness Club Leader, V.P. of Noble's Ladies, a member of the Precious Peaches Red Hat Group, Treasurer of Eastern Star Chapter #65 and participated in the organization for the wives of Shriners. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, David Pierce in 2011.
Survivors include 3 sons, David (Alice) Conner of Deltona, FL, Michael (Connie) Conner of Flowery Branch, GA, David (Cindy) Pierce of Mineola, FL, a daughter, Helen (Jim) Lyle of Monticello, FL, a brother, Billy (Wanda) Jenkins of Oakland, FL, 2 sisters, Louise (Bobby) Bennett of Fairburn, GA, Evelyn Fincher of Whitefield, TX, as well as 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus and Nature Coast P.O.
