Geneva Watson Obituary
Geneva Greet Watson, daughter of Jerome Edwin and Edith Victoria Brown Stephens, was born during the depression, on February 23, 1932, in Ozello, Florida, and departed this life April 22, 2016, in the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of eighty four years. As a child she lived and attended school on an island. She met her husband, Leon Roy Watson on that island and married the love of her life on June 7, 1947, at the age of fifteen and to this union was born eight children.
In 1965, she gave her life to God in a little church in Belleview, Florida, and later supported her husband in their ministry pastoring churches and evangelizing always in service to the Lord.
In 1971, they moved into her grandmother's home and cared for her until her passing just shy of her one hundred and first birthday. Geneva was always helping those in need, including her brother-in-law, who required in home care with kidney dialysis. Later they sold their home and started evangelizing full time in a travel trailer for the next nine years. After the death of her husband, she moved to Lebanon, MO in 2007, residing at Harwood Manor until 2010. She then lived with her daughter until her passing. While living in Lebanon, she attended Harvest Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. The love and prayers from her church family, where precious to her.
Those surviving include her children, Gwendolyn Moore and her husband Dean of Grovespring, Missouri, Sandra Louise Koch and her husband Russell of Homosassa, Florida, Nancy Lynn Gonzalez and her husband David of Lebanon, MO; Roy Lee Watson and his wife Jayna of Spearfish, South Dakota, Doyle Watson and his wife Cherryl of Lebanon, MO; Elaine Donahoo and her husband Timothy of Crystal River, Florida, and Arlene Carney and her husband Daniel of Lebanon, MO; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys LaDuke of Ocala, Florida; other relatives and friends; She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon Roy Watson, one son, Joseph Watson, a grandchild, Victoria Michelle Williamson, and by two brothers, Marvin and Ralph Stephens.
Funeral service will take place at the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ of Old Homosassa on Coral Bells Street on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastors James Varnum and Durone Strickland officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow at Crystal River Memorial Cemetery, Crystal River, FL. www.wilderfuneral.com
