Gerard Franklin Niebling, 90, of Homosassa, passed away on May 28 2016 at Cypress Cove Care Center. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, April 23, 1926.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Lillian, their son Ronald Niebling, and two grandsons, Christopher and Bryan. He is survived by daughters Linda Lynch of Homosassa and Ginny Niebling of Colorado. Gerard was a Life Member of BPOE1323 Elks in Patchogue, N.Y. and also was a member of Riverhead Moose Lodge. Gerard worked for many years as an accountant for the Carpenters Union in Medford, New York. He then worked as the superintendent at My. Vernon Garden Appts. in Patchogue. After retiring Jerry started his own remodeling business, Triple PPP. He had called Homosassa home since 2006 where he resided with his partner Barbara Martz. Barbara has two children, Lynn (Ken) Askin and their two sons Michael and Christopher, and William (Carmine) Martz. Jerry loved working with his hands and was very talented. One of the things he enjoyed was birds. He started making birdhouses which Barbara would paint for him. The birdhouses adorn the homes of many of his extended family, friends and neighbors. Gerard was treasured by his family, who he was devoted to and will be truly missed.
A celebration of Gerard's life will be held in January 2017 when all his dear friends can express their love and stories of his amazing life.
