Grant R. Eriksen, formerly of Meadowcrest, died on June 11, 2016 in Birmingham, AL.
He was born on January 29, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Charlotte Erikson. Mr. Eriksen is survived by his wife Virginia C. Eriksen of Birmingham, Al; children, Rena' Lathrop of Seminole, AL and Lance R. Eriksen of Spain. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Grant Douglas Eriksen and Alan Richard and by sister, Jean Mallett.
He is also survived by brother, Robert Eriksen and sister, Phyllis Benton plus several step-sons and step-daughters, plus step- grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Mr. Eriksen graduated from Macomber Vocational High School in Toledo, Ohio.
A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he served as a Seabee. Mr. Eriksen retired from Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL after many years of service. Graveside service will be held, Friday, June 24, 2016 at Alabama National Veterans Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to Vitas Healthcare, at www.vitascommunityconnection.org.
