Harry Eugene Hershey, 81, Hernando, died September 10, 2015 in Lecanto at the Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast facility Harry was born on January 21, 1934 to the late Harry H. and Velma (Ryder) Hershey in Ashland, Ohio and moved to Florida in 2000 from Strongsville,Ohio. He was a professional musician for most of his life and taught music as well. He hosted his own radio show during his career and had his own band. Harry entertained in many local venues in Citrus and surrounding counties and currently was the organist for First Presbyterian Church of Inverness. He enjoyed life immensely and truly loved his profession.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Breen Hershey; his 3 children, David Hershey of Parma, OH; Donna Lea of Ashburn, VA; Kathleen Hershey of Akron, OH; his brother, Richard Hershey of Fairview Park, OH; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Harry's life will be remembered and celebrated at the First Presbyterian Church of Inverness on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Ron Pfeifer will officiate. Burial will follow in North Olmstead, OH at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials requested to Hospice of Citrus and The Nature Coast, PO Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
