Hendrik G. "Henk" Pouderoyen Obituary
Hendrik G. "Henk" Pouderoyen, 86, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Superior Residences in Lecanto, FL.
A native of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he was born February 14, 1929, to Cornelis and Wyntje (Stout) Pouderoyen, one of two children. Mr. Pouderoyen was a retired senior vice president for P&O/Nedlloyd, a Dutch shipping company. Upon graduation he began his career in Singapore, where he lived for 15 years. He married the love of his life, Willy (Muys) on September 3, 1953, in Rotterdam who joined him in Singapore. He came to NYC in 1974 with his family and in 1984 transferred to San Francisco. He traveled extensively for business and pleasure.
Henk, as he was known to many, moved to Homosassa 23 years ago. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa and a member of Sugarmill Woods Country Club.
Among his joys during his life were photography, hiking and camping with his family. Late in his career, he was named Honorary Commander of the Port of San Francisco.
Mr. Pouderoyen is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Willy Pouderoyen, Homosassa, FL; his three children: Henk Pouderoyen, Santa Maria, CA; Cas Pouderoyen (wife Micki), Madison, NJ, and Simone McConville (husband Peter), Paul Smiths, NY; sister Antoinette Oskamp, Apeldoorn, Netherlands; grandchildren Laura Taylor (husband Isaac), New York, NY; Brian Pouderoyen, Phoenix, AZ; Jack Pouderoyen, Hoboken, NJ; and step-grandchildren Joe and Dean. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL.
