Henry Comiskey, 88, Inverness, continued into his life's journey Aug. 31, 2012, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

He was a full-time resident of Citrus County for the past 25 years. Henry was born Nov. 26, 1923, in Newark, N.J., to the late William and Irene (Maurath) Comiskey. He spent the better part of his life in the Edison, N.J., area, where he was a craftsman in the tile setting industry and also was employed as a tool and die maker. He served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, primarily in the South Pacific. He was a life member of VFW Post 4337 of Inverness, life member of the American Legion Post No. 0155 of Crystal River and a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2522 of Inverness.
Henry is survived by his wife, Ruth Barrett; sons, Henry Jr. and John of Inverness, Thomas (Patricia) and Raymond (Sara) of Edison, N.J., Michael (Fran) of Metuchen, N.J.; and daughter, Jane (Edward) Krolewski of Inverness; his brother, John and twin siblings Vincent and Irene Nygren of Bradford County, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Michael (Alexandra) Ferullo, Houston, Texas, Shawn of NYC, N.Y., Jessica, Michelle, Michael, Nicholas and Thomas, all of N.J. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jane, on April 4, 2006; his son, Kenneth in February 2012; his brother, William; and sister, Helen Mastandrea.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends in visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a wake service at 3:30 p.m. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory. The family requests donations in Henry's name to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464 in lieu of flowers.
