Howard Lawrence Wallace Sr Obituary
Howard Lawrence Wallace Sr., 91, of Homosassa Springs, Florida, passed away quietly Friday, October 28, 2016 at home surrounded by the love light of his children and grandchildren.
Born in Menands, New York, he was raised in Plattsburg, a child of the Depression. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and following the war, he worked for the railroad, beginning as a Lineman and as his father before him, worked his way up to Signal Supervisor. 1944 found him in Oneonta, New York where he married the love of his life, Dorothy Lorraine and they began their lives together which would span more than seven decades. After retirement, they moved to Florida in the 1980's and Howard enjoyed his life in golf. He was ever an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan.
In addition to his wife of 72 years, Dorothy, Howard is survived by his four children; seven grandchildren and one great grandson. A celebration of Howard's life will be held on Sun., Nov. 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL. In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. www.wilderfuneral.com.
