Jack O. Brumfield, 74, of Citrus Springs, Florida, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, FL with his loving wife, Eva at his side. He fought a long courageous battle with COPD.
Jack was born to the late Levi H. Brumfield and Naomi Murray Brumfield on September 15, 1941 in Homedale, Idaho.
He came to this area upon retirement from the U.S. Navy with 23 years of active military service on August 31, 1981. Jack was a Vietnam veteran serving 15 months on land and 3 tours off the coast of Vietnam on the USS Oriskany and the USS Sacramento. He was proud of his service to his country. "Fair Winds and following Seas."
Upon retirement from the military he moved to Dunnellon, FL and started a career in the cinder block business managing several block plants. He retired in 2003 upon being diagnosed with COPD. He was a member of the Inverness Elks No. 2522; VFW Post 10087, Beverly Hills and the first full term Governor and charter member of the Dunnellon Moose Lodge 2308 .
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Naomi Brumfield.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 41 years Eva Brumfield, Citrus Springs; sons, Richard (Lynn) Brumfield, Lake Oswego, Oregon and Troy Brumfield, Vancouver, Washington; daughter, Tracy (Carl) Roberts, Vancouver, Washington; sister, Wanda (Paul) Jesenko, Nampa, Idaho and brother, Gary (Jan) Brumfield, Roseburg, Oregon; 2 granddaughters, Amber and Samantha and
4 grandsons, Jacob, Nicholas, Sebastian and Joshua as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly as well as Romeo his faithful dachshund who was always by his side.

At Jack's request there will be no memorial service at this time. There will be a dedication service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the .
