James "Scotty" Clarke Obituary
James Clarke, 83, passed away suddenly July 31st at Seven Rivers Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, November 1933, son of the late Charles and Jeannie (Dunn) Clarke. The family immigrated to the United States in 1948 and Jim graduated from New Britain (CT) High School in 1951 and East Coast Aero Tech in 1953 when he then entered the Army being stationed at Ft. Rucker, Enterprise, Alabama. He married Marcia (Seaburg) in 1956. After leaving the service he worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Div. of United Technologies until his retirement in 1991 as Divisional Superintendent of Engine Test. He and Marcia then moved to Crystal River, maintaining a summer home in Weare, New Hampshire. He loved fishing, salt and fresh, and was an avid golfer, and at one time of his life he also played semi-pro soccer.
He leaves three children, James Andrew of Southington, CT; Charles of Homosassa, FL and daughter Elizabeth of New Britain, CT; five grandchildren, Michael, Chelsea, Tyler, Drina and Devon as well as two nephews; Cousin Bill Dunn of Homosassa and family members in Scotland. He was a really loveable person and friend to all. He will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 3rd at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 9870 Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, FL with Fr. Rich Chandler officiating. Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in charge of cremation arrangements.
