The Service of Remembrance for Mr. James D. Schmid, age 64 of Homosassa, Florida, will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 5, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka.
He was born September 2, 1950, in Alpena, MI, son of Donald and Florence (Neff) Schmid. He died Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Lecanto, FL. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a fire equipment salesman and was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Mr. Schmid was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka.
Mr. Schmid was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark Schmid. Survivors include his wife, Diana Schmid of Homosassa, son, Michael (Jess) Golladay of Clearwater, 2 daughters, Shannon (Kyle) Marshall of Homosassa and Jamie (David) Schmid of Tucson, AZ, brother, Pastor Michael (Nancy) Schmid of MI, 6 grandchildren, Damian, Mariam, Brandon, Aedin, Jeremiah and Blythe and 2 great grandchildren, Zachary and Elijah.
In lieu of flowers, friends may send memorial donations to the Hospice of Citrus County Hospice House, 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto, FL 34461.
