The Service of Remembrance for Mr. John Lee "Jack" Heaton, age 80, of Inverness, Fla., will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
Mr. Heaton was born July 23, 1933, in North Arlington, N.J., son of Benjamin Jr. and Willie Mae (Worsham) Heaton. He passed away Jan. 17, 2014, in Inverness, Fla. Mr. Heaton was an Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He worked as a building contractor and moved to Inverness from Miami in 1994. Mr. Heaton was a member of American Legion and Floral City Masonic Lodge No. 133 F&AM.
Mr. Heaton was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Johnnie Lee Marion Marsh Heaton; second wife, Christine Antoinette Tylek Heaton; two brothers, Benjamin Heaton Jr. and Robert Heaton; and a sister, Jane Bardsley. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Martha Heaton, Inverness; two sons, John Lee (Pam) Heaton Jr., Montgomery, Ala.; and Benjamin Anton (Gina) Heaton III, Kathleen, Ga.; four daughters, Robin Lynn Heaton, Zephyrhills; Dana Alexandra (Eduardo) DeLaCruz-Munoz, Miami; Kelly Lynn (Michael) Westbrook, Greensboro, N.C.; and Karen Lee (Paul) Cingolani, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and his faithful dog companion, Frankie.
