Josephine Perez Obituary
Josephine Perez, age 85, of Inverness, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Lecanto. Josephine was born on
April 9, 1932 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Jose and America (LaTorre) Rivera.
On June 21, 1952 she married James "Jim" Perez, the love of her life and with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. In 1987, Josephine and Jim made Citrus County their home after relocating from Southington, CT. A Catholic by faith, she was a wonderful homemaker who loved caring for her husband and her children. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, gardening, working outside and spending time at her goldfish pond. Josephine was a talented artist and created many beautiful oil paintings over the years.
In addition to her loving husband Jim, Josephine will be mourned by her son, Jim Perez, Jr. and his wife Terry of Inverness, FL; daughters: Diane Kaufman and her husband Wayne of Westbury, N.Y., Debora Davis and her husband James of Archer, FL; grandchildren: Tanya, Jason, Cory, Nicholas, Rebecca, Seth Michael and Stefanie; and great grandchildren: Lexus and Connor. Josephine will also be missed by her beloved poodle, Gigi.
A funeral service of remembrance for Josephine will take place on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at
11:00 AM from the Chas E. Davis Funeral Home and will be officiated by her son, Jim Perez, Jr. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, Josephine's family requests that donations be made in her memory to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464.
