Jules A. Gagné, 93, of Lecanto, Fla., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Jules was born Aug. 6, 1919, in Manchester, N.H., the son of Antoine and Emma Gagné. Mr. Gagné was a veteran of World War II and was part of the first wave on Normandy Beach. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, and Croix De Guerre Avec Palme. Jules was a woodworker. He moved to Lecanto in 2012 from Fort Pierce.

Mr. Gagné was preceded in death by his first wife, Violette Gagné, in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Gagné, of Fort Pierce; children, Angelique Kominski and husband Harry of Chula Vista, Calif., Robert Gagné and wife Nancy of Margote, and Judi Van Dermark and husband Garry of Inverness; grandchildren, Chuck Kominski, Johanna Peterson, Steven Gagné, Suzanne Milsap, Cheri Gagné, and Ben Van Dermark; and great-grandchildren, Davi, Hallie, Ryland, Blaine, Charles and Harrison.
Burial for Mr. Gagné will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Fort Pierce at a later date. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Citrus County.
