June C. Nash Obituary
June C. Nash, age 86, of Hernando, FL passed away at her residence on February 5, 2017 after a long illness.
June was born on March 17, 1930 to the late Clarence R. and Isabella (Wyrick) Crowell. She was born and raised in Bluefield, W.V. and graduated from Beaver High School. June went on to attend Bluefield College and later attended Concord College in Athens, W.V. On August 9, 1951 she married Paul S. Nash, also of Bluefield W.V., with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. They made Citrus County, FL their home in 1990 after relocating from Memphis, TN. During her early years of marriage she taught High School Math at Tazewell High School in Tazewell, VA. and at Graham High School in Bluefield, VA. Due to the nature of Paul's job, they made several moves over the years and lived in several different states. After the birth of her children, June was a dedicated homemaker that liked to be involved in activities. While living in Columbia, S.C. she was a Cub Scouts Den Mother for 7 years. In Atlanta, GA she was the Church Pianist and Sunday School Superintendent. In Columbus, OH she was a hospital volunteer for 10 years and in Memphis, TN she was active in the Tennessee Association of Women's Club and held a state office position. In Florida, June was the President of the Citrus Hills Woman's Club and sang in the Citrus Hills Choir. She enjoyed playing Bridge, entertaining friends and planning parties. June and her husband Paul have been active members of the Hernando Methodist Church for the past 25 years where she served on several committees. She and Paul also loved to travel. They began taking R.V. trips in 1955 and visited all lower 48 states as well as Canada and Mexico. She and Paul also enjoyed cruising and had been on 14 different voyages since his retirement. June will be remembered as a happy person with a positive attitude that never had a bad word to say about anyone.
In addition to her loving husband Paul, those left to mourn June's passing are sons, Paul Steven Nash and his wife Rebecca of Odessa, FL, George "Pete" Raymond Nash and his wife Jill of Gainesville, FL; and grandchildren: Hunter, Taylor, Jennifer, Michael and Julia. In addition to her parent's, June was preceded in death by her sister, Betty C. Ireson.
